TS-235E package

Q. What's included in the standard package of the TS-235E?

A. The ECR, a receipt printer and all necessary cables, as you can see in this 'Unboxing the TS-235E' video.

Printers and scanners

Q. I know the TS-235E package comes with a 57mm thermal printer as standard. But is it also possible to use a 80mm printer?
A. Yes, absolutely! Please view our range of thermal printers, and see this video for a demonstration.

Q. Can I use the receipt printer as a kitchen printer?
A. Yes, you can - see this video for a demonstration.

Q. I know I can connect 4 kitchen printers via a router and 3 kitchen printers via a serial cable but can I connect them wirelessly?
A. Yes, by using Bluetooth serial adapters as you can see on this video.

Q. How does the TS-235E work with a scanner?
A. It's as straightforward as one would expect! See here for a demonstration of the ease of use and complete lack of fuss.

Table management

Q. How can I keep track of people enjoying a drink at the bar waiting to be seated?

A. You can use up to 9 register memories to serve clients waiting for their table or drinking at the bar, cash their consumption or transfer it to the table they get seated at.

Q. My restaurant has numerous tables. How can I keep track of sales at all the individual tables, i.e. which tables are occupied and what amounts are consumed at each table?
A.You can view all your tables onscreen.Occupied tables that are served by the waiter who is logged in are red, tables occupied by clients who wish to pay individually are dark brown. Occupied tables served by other waiters are greyed out. Simply touch onscreen the table you want to see to and instantly view its bill. At the end of a shift, assign tables opened by the departing waiter to a new waiter.

Stock and report management

Q. How can I keep track of stock levels of my items?

A. Your inventory is automatically accounted for and warning messages tell you when it is time to restock a particular item.

Q. I am the manager of my shop/restaurant. When is a good time to take the day’s report?
A. You can take it at any time during the day, even while customers are still being served and tables are still open.

Functionality

Q. Can I issue a bill with or without service charge, members’ discount, employees’ discount, special discount?

A. Yes. Simply select which discounts you want to apply. You can also keep track of all take-ins by registering up to ten different customer payment methods.

Q. Can I use your tills to serve Take Away customers?
A. Yes. To serve a customer who drops in to pick up his favourite dish, use the ‘Take Away’ button to send his order to the kitchen and take his payment. You can even use a different price and a different VAT rate for the same item for Take Away sales

Q. What do I do if a customer returns to my shop or restaurant and wants to have a receipt for his/her purchase?
A. You can reprint any receipt hours after it was first issued. Customers do come back for receipts they forget to take and you obviously throw away after they leave.

Troubleshooting

Q. When I switch on TS-235E, the screen keeps displaying 'System initialising' and the receipt printer is emitting a beeping sound.
A. There appears to be a printer malfunction. This is most likely because the paper has run out. Ensure that a paper roll with sufficient paper is installed in the printer. Please refer to the TS235E manual on how to correctly replace the paper roll.

Please note that TS-235E won't initialise unless the connected receipt printer is functioning correctly.
